Kathy Hansen (Recreation Department). All members, staff and visitors are
asked to sign in on Roll Call Sheet.

PUBLIC HEARING
Pathways Master Plan
The Pathways Master Plan was adopted by the City Council on December 20, 1988, following an extensive
community involvement effort that included review by City Commissions, Neighborhood Associations and
individual citizens. This Plan is intended to establish a flexible framework within which the community of Lake
Oswego can develop a functional,safe,and cost effective pathway system. The Kerr Parkway andBryant Road
Corridors have been selected as the first of many Pathway Corridors to be developed under the City's
adopted Pathways Master Plan.
Plan Objectives and Approach
1. Develop a pleasant and safe pathway system.
2. Encourage citizen participation through a public review process.
3. Preserve neighborhood character& integrity, minimize adverse environmental
impact regarding trees, landscaping and other amenities.
4. Provide a plan document which can be published for distribution.
General Pathway Location Factors:
a. Right-of-way g. Street alignment conditions
b. General topography limitations h. Parking and landscape elements
c. Major barriers - lake, canal, rail road tracks, etc. i. Cost effectiveness
d. Existing pathways j. Safety
e. Development projects along the route k. Neighborhood character

Proposed Pathway Route Location:
Kerr Parkway Corridor
• Boones Ferry Road to McNary Parkway- west side alignment
NIcNary Parkway to Touchstone - south side alignment
Bryant Road Corridor
• Boones Ferry Road south to Lakeview Boulevard - east side alignment
• Lakeview Boulevard south to Royce Way - west side alignment (a proposed minor
pathway is recommended from West Bay Road south to Deerbrush Avenue)
