• SUMMARY OF PUBLIC MEETING
July 20 , 1989
Jerry Baker, Lake Oswego Traffic Engineer , reviewed pathway
priorities on page 9 of the Pathway Master Plan. There is 11, 380
feet of missing sidewalk from Sunnyhill to Greentree. City
Council directed the immediacy of this Pathway due to the school
reopening . About 110 students will be served in this area .
Greentree Avenue to the school will be marked with buttons . This
area is not on the Pathway Master Plan .
Jerry then reviewed the comments from the July 13th meeting . He
discussed the possibility of a crosswalk by the church, with a
small sidewalk on the opposite side.
Discussion of Pros and Cons :
A 5-foot pathway fits into the neighborhood and costs less .
A striped bike path is also possible in the future .

Schedule of Hearings :
Hearing notices mailed 7/21/89 for 8/3/ meeting
Require 14 days notice
Bid documents mailed day after hearing
Appeals deadline August 14
City council adopts bid August 15
Sign contracts August 16
Project will take 15 days in August plus 2 days in September
to complete
Appeal Process :
If appealed , goes to City Council meeting . Need 14 days
notification of meeting as required in hearing process .
This would push the start date back to after September 5.
Comments from Citizens :
• City Council recommended a temporary pathway if a permanent
pathway is not possible.
Greentree avenue is dangerous for a 7-year old . Why can' t
the pathway go around the corner? The pathway is just short
of safe.
Jerry Baker : The school district or an LID would have to
pay for the additional costs .
Discussion on keeping the gate open on the ballfields . The
school district wanted the gate closed to control the
children. They tend to spread out on the field and get
muddy .
The group was asked for a decision on 5-foot or 8-foot
pathway .
Jerry Baker recommended a 5-foot pathway because of
excavation costs .
A citizen recommended a bike lane be considered in the
future .
• A three-way stop is proposed for Greentree and Greentree
Avenue. A crosswalk is proposed at Carter Place .
The group voted unanimously for the 5-foot pathway.
