Team Sports Advisory Committee Meeting

I. Roll Call
In attendance: Pete Ebert (LOSC), Jake Anders (LO High School), Bill Lee and Brian Lind (LO Youth
Football), Ron Motch and Duane Ortell (Pacer Jr. Baseball), Gene Mildren(Chair), Mike Coulson
(Lakeridge High School), Craig Dewey(PRAB),Steve Dodds (Babe Ruth), Rick Wilson (L 0 Swim
Club) and Tom Swinford, (Waluga Little League). Staff present included Gary Evans (City of Lake
Oswego).
Excused absence : Brian Hines

II. Approval of December 11,2001 Minutes
111 Minutes approved with no additions or corrections. .
• III Open Public Communications
Gary announced that there is a problem with the Lakeridge Lights. Appears to be a problem
with the electrical system itself, as the by pass key for the computer system didn't help.
Steve Dodds reviewed the Frank Small coaching clinics of past.
Gary spoke of the criminal background check system offered by the City.
IV. General Business
A. Old Business
1. Available fields for Babe Ruth and Jr Baseball were discussed. The two leagues will meet
with Gene Mildren and submit request to the City.
• B. New Business.
. 1. The field project schedule was discussed.
Jake Anders was concerned about High School baseball field improvements. Wasn't sure of
the schedule for the rest of the work. Will contact Jennifer for details.
Waluga Jr. High and Bryant schedule discussed. Fields to open early June
Request was made to irrigate front of L.O. Jr. High School. TSAC members want
opportunity to look at the LOJH plans before otgoes out to bid.
2. Rick updated the committee on the school board meeting as it related to improvements to the
swimming pool. Only minor improvements are being proposed with a budget of about
$360,000.
C. Capital Project shopping list
1. No new projects submitted
D. Agenda items for January 2001 meeting
• 1. Discussion between the two Little Leagues and soccer needs to happen PPen soon.
V. Meeting was adjourned at 8:15 PM
Next meeting February 12, 2001. Future meetings March 12, and April 9.
