Fred Schreyer moved, Jim Joyce seconded. • III Open Public Communications Brian Heinze is not able to attend tonight's meeting but wanted to let the committee know that he feels strongly about recommending the Lake Oswego High School baseball field as a choice for placement of artificial turf. IV. General Business 1. Status of Maintenance fees for natural and artificial turf fields. Pete Ebert explained the present state of the fee structure for both natural and artificial turf fields. 2. Status/Discussion on possible sites for the new artificial turf fields. After considerable discussion, the committee considered the pros and cons of the following locations: A) LO High School Baseball field B) LO High School East of entry field (Presently used for construction parking) C) Westlake Park D) George Rogers park E) Oak Creek Elementary F) LO Junior High G) Area between Uplands and LO Junior High H) Rassehk Property I) Woodmont Park J) Mountain Park Reservoir site 3. Funding for the replacement of the artificial turf fields. Pete explained that there are no funds for turf replacement being set aside by either the City or the School District. When the time comes to replace the existing fields it will be funded through a bond measure. There are concerns about the uncertainty of future measures passing. 4. Possible locations of other natural turf fields. The area West of Rivergrove Elementary School was mentioned as a possible site, along with the Rassehk property. Note: Gary mentioned that a list for future needs and likely sites for fields should be maintained and reviewed by TSAC on a regular basis, but also reminded the committee that new natural turf fields aren't presently identified as a City Council goal and because of that, may not get the attention TSAC is looking for. Suggested that they work through the Parks • &Recreation Advisory Board for future consideration. • V Capital Project shopping list Look at the potential for fields located on the reservoir site in Mountain Park and the area West of Rivergrove Elementary School. VI Agenda items for December 8, 2003 meeting Sub Committee report on artificial turf field location recommendations V. Meeting was adjourned Next meetings December 8, January 13.
