Sustainability Advisory Board Minutes
September 15, 2014
Call to Order / Roll Call
Co-chair Mary Ratcliff called the September 15, 2014 meeting of the Sustainability Advisory
Board (SAB) to order at 6:34 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Main Fire Station, 300 B
Avenue, Lake Oswego, Oregon.
Members Present: Co-chair Mary Ratcliff, Co-chair Gary Hanifan, Lisa Adatto,
Sarah Asby, Louis Isbell, Vidya Kale, Richard Canaday, Priya
Judge (Youth)
Members Excused / Absent: Ron Smith
Staff: Jordan Wheeler, Deputy City Manager
Announcements from Board and Staff
Jordan Wheeler introduced Ian Davidson, the City’s 2014 Kincaid Management Intern.
Approval of Minutes
The Board unanimously approved the August 2014 meeting minutes.

Regular Business
A. Review Agenda
Co-Chair Ratcliff reviewed the agenda.
B. City Council Update
Jordan Wheeler reported on the upcoming City Council meetings. Highlighted agenda items
included the Wizer appeal hearings and the Sensitive Lands Quick Fixes.
C. Wizer Block Redevelopment
The Board discussed the letter to the City Council drafted by Co-chair Hanifan with
assistance and contributions from board members. The Board made changes and
unanimously approved the Board’s decision to finalize, sign, and send the letter to the City
Council.

D. Sensitive Lands Quick Fixes
Co-chair Ratcliff reviewed the planning staff report on the proposed quick fixes to the
Sensitive Lands regulations. The Board agreed that an overarching recommendation is that
any quick fixes should have a sunset provision. Board members will review and research
the proposed fixes, consult with watershed councils, and submit comments to the City
Council prior to October 21, 2014.
E. SAB Goal Setting
Chair Hanifan discussed the process for the SAB goal setting and their board review meeting
with Scott Lazenby and Jordan Wheeler. The SAB agreed to approach the process by
researching and drafting annual goals for the Board, but also to draft and present
recommended goals for the City Council to consider as well. The SAB will research and
propose goals in October, draft goals in November, and adopt their annual goals in
December, prior to the City Council goal setting meetings.
F. Outreach Update
Co-Chair Ratcliff updated the Board on the Eco-film Festival and the upcoming Green Home
Tour on September 27 and the SAB volunteers for the events. Members were encouraged
to bring guests to the final 2 films. City staff will help advertise the home tours.
G. Other Work Plan Updates
There were no other updates.

Co-chair Ratcliff adjourned the meeting at 8:01p.m.
