BACKGROUND
During the July 2, 2019 Lake Oswego City Council meeting, Sarah Ellison was appointed as first
alternate on the Parks, Recreation & Natural Resources Advisory Board, to serve should there
be a vacancy on the board before June 30, 2020.
DISCUSSION
On Tuesday, February 11, 2020 board member Natalie Bennon tendered her resignation from
the Parks, Recreation & Natural Resources Advisory Board. Ms. Bennon’s term on the board
was scheduled to end on June 30, 2020. Mayor Studebaker has appointed alternate Sarah

Ellison to serve the remainder of Ms. Bennon’s term through June 30, 2020 subject to the
approval of the City Councilors.
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt Resolution 20-08.

RESOLUTION 20-08
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCILORS OF THE CITY OF LAKE OSWEGO APPROVING
APPOINTMENTS TO THE PARKS, RECREATION & NATURAL RESOURCES ADVISORY
BOARD
WHEREAS, Parks, Recreation & Natural Resources (PARKS) board member Natalie
Bennon tendered her resignation on Tuesday, February 11, 2020; and
WHEREAS, a City Council Interview Committee consisting of Councilor Jackie Manz,
Councilor John LaMotte and PARKS Co-Chair, Bill Gordon, met on Saturday, June 8, 2019
to interview candidates for the Parks, Recreation & Natural Resources Advisory Board;
and
WHEREAS, it was the consensus of the Interview Committee to recommend that Sarah
Ellison be appointed as first alternate in the event of a vacancy on the PARKS board
before June 30, 2020; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor has made the appointment recommended by the Interview
Committee and the City Council approved the appointment on July 2, 2019; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Councilors of the City of Lake Oswego
approve the Mayor’s appointment of Sarah Ellison to the PARKS Board to fill the
remainder of Natalie Bennon’s term through June 30, 2020.
This resolution shall take effect upon passage.
Considered and adopted by the City Councilors of the City of Lake Oswego at a regular
meeting held on the 3rd day of March 2020.
