Staff Recommendation: Award a Public Improvement Contract for the Roehr Park Trail and
Bridge Project.
Recommended Language for Motion: Move to award a public improvement contract with
Emery and Sons Construction for construction of the Roehr Park Trail and Bridge
Replacement Project (WO 283) in the amount of$363,765.25.

BACKGROUND
The Roehr Pathway has been in decline for the past 10 plus years. Roots from nearby trees
have created raised and uneven areas along the pathway. The wooden bridges have begun to
rot in places and sections of the pathway have eroded away due to high water over the years.
DISCUSSION
The work consists of replacing and regrading approximately 1600 lineal feet of an asphalt paved
trail, removal of trees, removal of three small wood bridges, construction of one new pre-fab
wood bridge, and the installation of several culverts and the relocation of signs. Landscape will

include native seeding and some plantings along a short section of the trail where a new
Envirolok wall system will be constructed.
RECOMMENDATION
Authorize the City Manager to sign a public improvement contract with Emery and Sons
Contractors in the amount of$363,765.25 for construction of the Roehr Park Trail and Bridge
Replacement Project: WO 283.
