Roll Call G. Arnold Attendees: Gene Arnold, Joanne Haynes, Robert Dwyer, Ronald Matthews, Marcia Robertson, Teresa Schader, Councilor Manz, Ann Adrian Absent: Guest: Robert Hesslink, Richard Canaday/Sustainability Advisory Board 2. Approve Meeting Minutes— May 2015 G. Arnold Robert Dwyer made a motion to approve the minutes. Ronald Matthews seconded the motion, minutes approved. 3. Open Public Communication G. Arnold The purpose of citizen comment is to allow citizens to present information or raise an issue regarding items not on the agenda. A time limit of five minutes per citizen shall apply. Richard Canaday from the Lake Oswego Sustainability Advisory Board asked the 50+ Board for ideas for collaboration. The Sustainability Board is supporting a Health & Well Being Commuter challenge and is looking for sponsors and/or recruiting a walking team to help raise funds. The Chair asked that the item be put on the July agenda. 4. Old Business 4.1 City Council Update J. Manz Councilor Manz gave updates on the following topics; There was no Council meeting held this week or a study session. Last Council meeting highlighted the LOTWP change orders. Budget work is done and supplemental budget was approved. Focus is still on roads as far as big budgetary items. Storm water management may become a priority in the future. Street of Dreams starting in July and will generate additional traffic and revenue. The City is building a new Operations Center in Lake Grove. 4.2 ACC Update A. Adrian Ann Adrian gave updates on the following items; Aging Mastery Program to be launched. The ACC chosen for a grant through the National Council on Aging (NCOA). The ACC is looking forward to the second accreditation through National Institute of Senior Centers (NISC). An assessment committee with approximately thirty participants will work on the accreditation process. The newly wrapped ACC shuttle bus will be in the 4th of July parade. A statue from the Art's Council will be installed at the ACC later this year. Fit Spot grand opening scheduled for July 11 at West Waluga Park. 4.3 PRAB Report R. Matthews Ronald Matthews unable to attend the PRAB meeting. Ann Adrian attended the meeting and gave the following report; A reflection site for Veterans in a Lake Oswego park. Lending libraries in the parks. The Living Well in LO (LWILO) program going well. 4.4 Library Advisory Board Report J. Haynes/N. Nyland Joanne Haynes unable to attend the LAB meeting, no update given. 5. New Business 5.1 Election of New Officers G. Arnold Gene Arnold opened up nominations for Chair and Vice-Chair for the 50+ Advisory Board. Gene Arnold nominated Ronald Matthews for Chair. Marcia Robertson seconded the nomination. Board unanimously approved. Gene Arnold nominated Teresa Schader as Vice-Chair. Marcia Robertson seconded the nomination. Board unanimously approved. 5.2 Free Talk All The following topics were discussed; Rotating Board Chairs once a year. Blinking yellow left turn lights at intersection beneficial to drivers. LED light replacement in the city. Opportunity for action through the Advisory Boards. Ronnie Bennett instrumental in developing the Elder Playground which became the Fit Spot. Index listing a cities livability. Robert Dwyer made a motion to adjourn, Marcia Robertson seconded the motion.
