I voted not to require landscaping and to only require a tree, but I think what
landscaping means is really important. I personally like lush green grass,
flowers, and shrubs but recognize the inconsistency of that aesthetic with
the current climate situation.
I support something that enhances the space in front of all houses but
support even more, the definition of landscaping. I agree with the need for
that to include native, drought-resistant planting. I also support adding to the
tree canopy. We really need to consider the availability of water for the
future. The impact some vegetation and all dry vegetation has to potentially
become a fire hazard.
