I am not familiar with the city planning process, but looking I see this folder – but don’t see our opposition statement included. Apologies if I didn’t make it clear below in original email. We have been home owners at 5541 Yorkshire Pl Lake Oswego for 25 years. We (Kathy Chung my wife and ) echo all other concerns already shared with other neighbors regarding impact to protected wetlands, wildlife and home owner value. We are in strong opposition to the proposed sewer line especially given it sounds like there are several other options for the developer to pursue. Hello City Planning – (Ellen Davis and John Gliebe) Kathryn Chung (CC) and myself (Charles Fichter) are homeowners at 5541 Yorkshire Pl, Lake Oswego, OR 97035 A note was posted on our mailbox today by a neighbor, stating there is a proposed new sewer line that will go directly through the protected wetland behind our home. We have been home owners here for 25 years, we bought this property with an understanding this was a protected wetland and NO development could occur within/in/on it. There is an enormous eco system of water life, birds, deer – really significant ecosystem. We are definitely concerned, and the note lists that zero investment in time or research has been done by the city to understand wetland impact, environment, animals, impact to neighbors etc. I understand the city promised to hold a hearing but did not? The note states comments are due by July 10 NOON. What notice did you provide to all potential impacted neighbors directly adjacent? None that we’ve seen. This very much has concerned all neighbors on Yorkshire Pl (we are the dead end cul-de-sac directly adjacent to the wetland). We are requesting/ need to understand immediately the full proposed work, timelines etc. This will have IMMENSE and potentially immeasurable financial impact to the value of our homes, especially as we are planning to sell are house with in the next 12 months – so if the wetlands are destroyed and filled with construction crews, you will directly impact our ability to sell the home for the value we understood it held for a protected wetland behind the property.
