Staff Recommendation: Approve award of grants to awardees listed in Table 1 of this
Council Report and authorize disbursement of funds in July.
Recommended Language for Motion: Move to approve the award of grants listed in Table 1
and authorize disbursement of funds in fiscal year 2025.

BACKGROUND
Annually, the City awards grants to local non-profit entities providing services to Lake Oswego
residents. These grants, through non-profit entities, allows citizens to access services, goods, or
events that are not currently being provided by the City.
A working group was assembled from volunteers from the Budget Committee to review the
applications and assist in the staff recommendation to the Council. The working group included:

There were 21 applications that were submitted, for a total request of$166,950 in funding. The
working group met on February 7, 2024 to discuss the process and agree on the rubric for
scoring the applications. One March 21, 2024, with the cumulative scoring as a guide, the
working group unanimously recommended to the staff that staff recommend the Council
funding 12 non-profit organizations for $80,000; accordingly, staff makes the following
recommendations for funding in Table 1, below. These non-profits requested a total of$81,000
in funding which exceeds the funds available. Table 1 is the list of non-profit entities, a
description of services, goods, or events, the amount requested, and the amount
recommended for award.

FISCAL IMPACT
The total grant amount ahs been appropriated in the biennial 2023-25 budget. With Council's
approval, funds will be disbursed as stated in Table 1 in early July.
RECOMMENDATION
Approve award of the grant awardees listed in Table 1 of this Council Report and authorize
disbursement of funds in July.
