Minutes of previous meeting read and.. approved. .. John Miles asked the Council's permission to build on an.addition to Akome on 8th St. which would allow only 15 ft. set -back. Council approved plans subject to inspection by Papulski and Wilson. Bob Bloodworth presented plans for home on Westward Ho Road for Council approval which would permit only 15 ft. set back. Council approved, subject -to inspection of Papulski. and Wilson. Dell Hinson reported that he had re jected.:building -plans 6f: -Clyde Hill, and ordered work stopped since his drawings were incomplete and he had not com- plied with set -back requirements. . Mark Wald, -contractor for apts. being built at south end of Third Street in- quired regarding City's plans for completing the street at that location. Matter was referred to Street Committee. - Moved by Wilson, seconded by Hughes that Phil Hammond be instructed to prepare Ordinance amending Ord. No. 323 limiting number of taxicabs allowed in Oswego to three. Worthington voted "no"; Wilson, Hughes, Papulski voted "yes". The Council akm% granted permit to Joe Papez to operate two taxicabs for the period from Feb. 19, to July 1, 1952. Mr. Needham recommended that letter from School Board regarding asking price ($17,638.) for school property be tabled until the next regular meeting of the Council. Mr. Papulski was asked to study'and make recommendations at the next meeting on the following matters: pump requirements for the water system; costs of replacing sewer maps; basis for Engineer's fees. Remittance was.received from Cla.ek.•.Co. Treas. ecovering._our 80%..of dog licenses collected for year 1951. Amount -due Mr. Keller in accordance with previous agreement will be'discussed at next regular meeting. Letter from Chief Montgomery read, in which he recommended five locations suitable for fire hydrants at such time as funds are available. Matter was referred to Watter Committee. Moved by Hughes, seconded by Papulski that the Water Dept. and City Recorder's Office be closed Friday, Feb. 22nd., and that the flag be put up. Motion passed unanimously. Moved by Hughes, seconded by Wilson that the following monthly salary increase adjustments be made: $10.00 to Joe Nemec, $5.00 to Earl Hughes, and $5.00 to Chief Montgomery. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Dorner reported: that he had received no word from the S. F. office of the Southern Pac. Co. regarding "jacking pipe" under tracks in the vicinity of "B" Ave.; that progress was being made on the plans for the Bridge crossing L_ (Memo- regarding irregular -set -!back -3 after inspection by PApulski and Wilson: Miles: No addition on front. => Bloodworth: 20 ft. set back required. Clyde Hill: 25 ft..set-back required on Ellis Ave. 15 ft. 'set back on-Lake,-Forest.drive min. of'12 ft. set -back for garage. Oswego Creek for the Park; that "B" Ave. storm sewer had been layed and drawings were near completion; that no report from Safeway had been received regarding the proposed parking lot and driveway permit;ct recommended that copies of sewer maps be made from profiles owned by City. Phil Hammond reported that progress is being made regarding the Sewage Disp. Plant site right-of-way. Surveys are being made to determine the cost of an underpass. Oregon Iron & Steel agrees that that is'the only way to make access-- and report as to what portion they would bear should be available within: a week. _ =: Earl Hughes asked Council.if they recommended the precaution of "cribbing" on the excavation project on "B" AVE. It was decided that there would be no risk involved. _ c: It was agreed that Mrs. Whitney (a representative of the P:T.A.),•be granted permission to have "rabbit tracks" painted on the sidewalks as an advertis- ing feature -in connection with the; food sale planned for )the lst of April - to•be held at Piggly Wiggly store..' _. Moved by Worthington seconded by Hughes that the Recorder be instructed to issue warrants to cover -the bills for January (1952) as approved by .the Finance Committee. Moved by Hughes, seconded by Wilson that meeting adjourn. Motion carried.
