Regular meeting of the City Council called to order by Mayor Needham. Worthington-,
absent.
Minutes of previous meeting. read and approved:
Moved by Wilson, seconded by Papulski that minutes for October. 7th be I amended
to read that David Spear!.s salary be.set for only the first three.months @
X275.00.
Wayne ,Larson;, ,16850 S. W. Patton Rd.,. asked if it would be possible , for . him to
get. city, water. ,if he would extend present_ water line to .his" property (25, ft.
out of city limits on Patton Rd.) and "put in booster pump. Cbuncil agreed.
Letter from H. H. Judd, Pres., Lakeview Apts., was read, reporting hazardious
condition of dried grass and brush, also; scrap paper on vacant lot between
Fire, Station and extending behind,their car.ports; Recorder was instructed
to write letter to Mr. Walters,Circulation Dist. Mgr, for.Oswego area advising
that if this condition is not remedied, their carriers would not be allowed
to use this location.
Papulski, speaking foto the Kiwanis Club, asked permission for that group to
hold an auction in the Niles used car lot Oct. 25th, and that arrangements be
----made-for-permission,to-use the loudspeaker on this date. Moved by Stidd,
® seconded by Wilson that this request be granted. Passed unanimously.
Moved by Papulski, seconded by Hughes that Earl Hughes be authorized to make
necessary arrangements for painting center stripe on "A" Ave. from State St.
to 10th St., and from 10th St. to City limits. Passed unanimously.
Moved by Stidd, seconded by Wilson that- Parents Group of the Lady of the Lake
School be permitted to erect booth for selling holly during the Christmas
season -- at a location exclusive of city streets or sidewalks. Passed
unanimously.
Moved by Rogers, seconded by Wilson that Mrs. Frank Roehr be appointed to
fill vacancy left by Mrs. Graybill on Library Board. Passed unanimously.
Police Report was read and approved.
Moved by Rogers, seconded by Stidd that contract presented by Stodd & Gooding
regarding fire protection to Marylhurst College be referred to our city
attorney for study and recommendation. Passed unanimously.
Moved by Stidd, seconded by Wilson that inasmuch as the next regular meeting
of the Council would fall on a legal holiday no meeting will be held on that
date and the next council meeting will be held on the 3rd Tuesday of November.
(Nov. 18th). Passed unanimously.
Moved by Wilson, seconded by Hughes that Recorder be instructed to issue warrants
to cover the bills for Sept. Passed unanimously.
City attorney reported that condemnation suit for the sewage disposal plant site
had been filed.

by Chief Montgomery for volunteer firemen be accepted:

Don Atchison,
Elvin Jacobsen
Robert Vinton;
Passed unanimously.
Moved by.Stidd, seconded by:Wilson.,that-we not take advantage of the,
opportunity to send the Asst. Fire Chief to the Civilian Def. conference`.'
at St. Mary's College in Calif. Passed unanimously.

training'school at Salem. Passed unanimously.
