Regular meeting of the Council called to order by Mr. Hughes, President, of the
Council. Needham absent.
Minutes of previous meeting read, corrected and approved.
Donald Alkire and Phil Carnahan from the Texaco Service Station at the corner
of. State and "B" requested approval -of a sign 11 ft. long to extend.over
sidewalk at a reasonable height: Since this -did 1. not comply with,the provisions
of the Sigh Code it was moved by Bender, seconded by Worthington that the:Street
Committee investigate.and,report on this matter at the next council meeting..
Rogers,'Worthington and Bender voted "yes";; Stidd and Wilson, "no".
Public Hearing was held in connection•with the proposed Zone change of Lots.13,
14, 15 and 16, Block 48, First Add. to Oswego from Dist. 3 to Dist. 52 after
which it was moved by Rogers, seconded by Stidd,that. the City Attorney be
instructed t�o �draw.up ordinance providing, for this change. Passed unanimously.
Moved by Bender,- seconded by Wilson'that matter of washing out the 10th St.
.well with calganori be.referred.to.the Water Committee for study and recommenda-
tion✓at the next council,meeting. '.Passed unanimously.'
Moved by Wilson, seconded by Rogers that authorization be given to.extend sewer
on Lake Front Road to include manhole. Passed unanimously.
Move d,by Wilson,.seconded by Stidd that Carroll Hansen be employed. -as chief of
Police.at.-a monthly salary of $350.00 at of December. .2 ; 1952.'
Worthington, Rogers, Stidd,'and Wilson voted "'yes". Bender did not =vote.
Mr. Bender will speak to Mr. Morris'about his agreement to trim certain trees
near his Swim resort to allow more effective lighting at that location.
Moved by ..Bender, seconded by Wilson that $56.00 be paid to.hewis Grant as super-
visor for the Summer Playground Program.. Passed unanimously.
Moved by .Bender, seconded by Rogers that ,check in_.. the amount of .$1,000.00 drawn
on the Improvement Dist. Ro. 1 account.-be,issued.`to the,Oswego State Bank to
.apply on'note;held by the *bank. Passed. unanimously.
Moved by Wilson, seconded by Worthington that all water accounts be paid at
the Water Department. Passed unanimously.;
