The Lake Oswego City Council will hold its annual goal setting retreat on Saturday, February 21,2026 beginning at 9 a.m.
in Council Chambers at City Hall. In preparation,the City Council would like to hear from the community.
Please take a few minutes before 5 p.m.on February 12,2026 to share your input. Comments will be shared with the City
Council before their retreat.

What would you like to see the City Council consider in their 2026 goal setting session?*
1. I question the need for a new library. I visit the library at least three times a week and check-out over 100
books per year.The library is certainly not overused. Libraries are for books, not communty gathering rooms.
2.Still waiting for progress on building outdoor pickleball courts.Once again,the Council seems to be flailing
around on providing courts despite high demand from the resident pickleball community.Surrounding cities all
have built courts for their communities.
3, Environmental degradation of the pond adjoining Iron Mt. Park.The pond,once of the home of resident and
migrating birds and abundant wildlife, has now disappeared.The pond has been chocked off by the invasion of
Azolla weed,and is now a virtual weed lot and eyesore.A natural stream always fed the pond, but now blocking
its flow are water-thirsty shrubs and trees planted by the city along the watercourse. I questioned the Parks
Department about this problem.The Parks employee said there was no plan to do anything to remedy the
infestation. Rather,the department planned"to let nature takes its course."
