The Lake Oswego City Council will hold its annual goal setting retreat on Saturday, February 21,2026 beginning at 9 a.m.
in Council Chambers at City Hall. In preparation,the City Council would like to hear from the community.
Please take a few minutes before 5 p.m.on February 12,2026 to share your input. Comments will be shared with the City
Council before their retreat.

What would you like to see the City Council consider in their 2026 goal setting session?*
1.)Off-Road Pathways. Especially considering connect long stretches for biking and walking from Lake Grove
to Downtown(ie Iron Mountain, Rail with Trail along the railroad)
2.)On Housing Production Strategy-please make sure you are ask staff to show you the numbers on housing
(that have actualized AND are in the city planning pipeline vs the HNA targets by housing type)each time that
you are considering major decisions on housing that further densify Lake Oswego.The numbers should be
reviewed in a simple 1 page view to the targets to ensure all housing types are being considered including single
family and townhomes.
3.)Please also take action to repeal the upzoning of existing residentially zoned land that made its way into the
Housing Production Strategy as a tactic. It's not mathmatically needed to achieve the 20-year HNA targets.
Council directed staff last fall in a council meeting to remove it(both Mayor and Wendland)and staff did not seek
to revise the plan.The Planning Commission defaulted in 2025 to generally taking the direct recommendations
from Staff within the Housing Production Strategy meetings and differing points of view from citizens should
have been more directly welcomed during those meetings.There was a quote from someone on the panel
during one of the meetings to staff"Are we going to get a chance to talk or provide input?"towards the end of
the workstream to develop the Housing Production Strategy. Housing is important but I think the middle ground
and balance of densification/local control has been lost within the housing discussions lately.
