The Lake Oswego City Council will hold its annual goal setting retreat on Saturday, February 21,2026 beginning at 9 a.m.
in Council Chambers at City Hall. In preparation,the City Council would like to hear from the community.
Please take a few minutes before 5 p.m.on February 12,2026 to share your input. Comments will be shared with the City
Council before their retreat.

What would you like to see the City Council consider in their 2026 goal setting session?*
I am not in favour of a new Library/Civic Center.The library is well loved and well used and could use some
upgrades I understand. But a new swim center was just completed and there are many meeting places at our
schools that could be utilized for gatherings(LO Reads goes to the Highschool Gym and that works great).
There are also churches that have great spaces for music. I would imagine many would be pleased to contract
with the City and others for special events. I'm just not convinced that a new large Library-Community Center is
necessary when we have so much space in this City already that can accommodate community activities. Leave
the library for its books and small gatherings alone-they don't need to be abandoned for a mega facility.The
purchase of the Yamhill building was a disaster. Let us learn from our mistakes.
