What would you like to see the City Council consider in their 2026 goal setting session?*
Non-car transportation.
The walking paths aren't very safe--especially on South Shore. I can't let my kids even ride their bikes down
South Shore due to fear for safety. That limits their ability to get around.
I also would like Council to consider e-bike safety and rules regarding speed and locations(I don't think they
should be allowed on sidewalks)--and education and enforcement of age and speed rules.
Perhaps also an education campaign for drivers re: bikes-help make them aware of how to behave with bikes
on roads.
Perhaps some of this falls under the'safe routes to schools'topic, but it does seem broader than that, especially
the e-bike speed,age,and location limits.
I would like to feel safer walking and riding a bike in the city--but many of the paths next to roads just don't feel
safe.
