The Lake Oswego City Council will hold its annual goal setting retreat on Saturday, February 21,2026 beginning at 9 a.m.
in Council Chambers at City Hall. In preparation,the City Council would like to hear from the community.
Please take a few minutes before 5 p.m.on February 12,2026 to share your input. Comments will be shared with the City
Council before their retreat.

What would you like to see the City Council consider in their 2026 goal setting session?*
Hi Council!
A phrase I read recently was"homes for all ages,stages and wages"and I think that really describes a diverse
and sustainable community,one where a student,family and retired couple can all live together in one building.
Another was"four floors and corner stores", i.e.every neighborhood should welcome those small scale
apartments with small-scale walkable commercial next door.
But...
We can't build dense housing and still expect everyone to drive everywhere. People cannot get out of their cars
if it's not safe.
I'd like to see the City get more aggressive about biking and walking infrastructure and that means finding
revenue sources to pay for quicker and more buildouts. My suggestion is to install parking meters downtown. I
believe we already have traffic wardens to check for infractions and meters are already installed and working in
Portland and Oregon City,so bring Parking Kitty here?I believe this will provide another incentive for people to
walk/bike if making a short journey downtown and increase the revenue available to build out safe bike/walk
infrastructure.
I'd also like to see LO work with LOSD to create carrots/sticks for parents driving their kids to school.Create
group walking/biking routes to schools.Close the streets in front of schools so parents have to drop off further

A city where most people walk/bike is a quiet safe city,one that we can all enjoy.
