The Lake Oswego City Council will hold its annual goal setting retreat on Saturday, February 21,2026 beginning at 9 a.m.
in Council Chambers at City Hall. In preparation,the City Council would like to hear from the community.
Please take a few minutes before 5 p.m.on February 12,2026 to share your input. Comments will be shared with the City
Council before their retreat.

What would you like to see the City Council consider in their 2026 goal setting session?*
Please,adopt a goal to ban gas landscaping equipment, particularly gas leaf blowers,with an effective date of
January 2027.This is an issue of public health that negatively impacts the health and well-being of the operator,
residents, passers-by,children, pets,and wildlife large and small.Their year-round,daily overuse is inescapable
and makes it impossible to enjoy spending time out of doors.The noise levels are outrageous and their
emissions are toxic. Please act to protect the health and quality of life of all those who live and work in Lake
Oswego.Just look at Beverly Hills,who concluded"while it is important that landscapes are maintained, it is
equally important that the gardening work being performed is done in a manner that minimizes the impacts and
effects to surrounding neighbors and the environment,so that residents and visitors alike can enjoy spending
time outdoors..."They banned gas leaf blowers in 1978.Thank you-I appreciate the work you do on our behalf.
