The Lake Oswego City Council will hold its annual goal setting retreat on Saturday, February 21,2026 beginning at 9 a.m.
in Council Chambers at City Hall. In preparation,the City Council would like to hear from the community.
Please take a few minutes before 5 p.m.on February 12,2026 to share your input. Comments will be shared with the City
Council before their retreat.

What would you like to see the City Council consider in their 2026 goal setting session?*
The City of Portland has banned gas leaf blowers. It's time for Lake Oswego to implement a similar ban.Too
much time has been spent talking and planning and not accomplishing what is needed to make our city streets
tranquil and healthy again.A ban is good for everyone. For neighbors it restores some peace to our
neighborhoods.Too often I witness landscapers simply going through the motions of leaf blowing when there is
next to nothing to blow off season.They blow debris from one side of the street to the other,or to someone
else's yard,all the while unnecessarily creating noise and emissions pollution. For the landscapers,they have
the ability to expand their businesses into the city of Portland once they have their gas powered equipment.
Their health and well-being will dramatically improve as well.There is no excuse for delaying this ban any
longer.There may be Lake Oswego citizens who are disgruntled, however, I believe the vast majority of citizens
would like to have health and tranquility restored to their neighborhoods. I hope the City Council will find the
political will to truly take care of those who live and work in Lake Oswego by taking this step to implement the
gas-powered equipment ban.
