The Lake Oswego City Council will hold its annual goal setting retreat on Saturday, February 21,2026 beginning at 9 a.m.
in Council Chambers at City Hall. In preparation,the City Council would like to hear from the community.
Please take a few minutes before 5 p.m.on February 12,2026 to share your input. Comments will be shared with the City
Council before their retreat.

What would you like to see the City Council consider in their 2026 goal setting session?*
Goal 4.Strengthen public trust in the City through continuous improvement,outstanding customer service,
infrastructure investments,and fiscal stewardship
Suggested Initiative or Action Plan
Install underground utilities wherever possible to prevent loss of service during events that disrupt water,gas
and electricity to businesses and residences.
Immediately stop collaborating with the LO Library Advisory Board and Library Director and the LO School
District for plans to move and rebuild a"state of the art"LO Library Community Center particularly on the west
side of LO,especially at the LGES site,despite the questionable physical conditions of the current library.There
is no viable suitable property and no funds to carry out this plan,despite what the school district has indicated
and hinted.And an Urban Newal plan is not a viable solution.
Goal 6.Support business investment and job creation in LO
Suggested Initiative or Action Plan
Bring in to Lake Grove more family friendly stores(like a'Grahams',or a Variety store), not more boutique shops
Hire or engage in consultant services for a new Redevelopment and Economic Development Program Manager.
This position should not be filled by a current LO staff or commissioner or council member or Mayor.Once a
qualified program manager is selected then the following action plan should occur, not just discussed:Actively
engage and collaborate better with the LO Chamber of Commerce and community partners including
neighborhood associations on how to create jobs AND attract commercial businesses, large, medium and small
to LO. Explore commercial conversion to residential concepts and plans that other cities are implementing even
though financially these conversions seem insurmountable.
Goal 8. Improve transportation connections, mobility and safety for all travelers and all types of trips in Lake
Oswego
Suggested Initiatives or Action Plans
More frequent TriMet bus service on Boones Ferry Road (define the routes?And/or define frequency)
Add a striped crosswalk on Quarry Road at Galewood Street AND add a sidewalk or pathway along the west
side of the single family residential property on Galewood Street(15112).The latter part of this initiative/action
plan is on the LO Transportation System Plan as unfunded.
Improve safety for all travelers by painting or repainting reflective stripes on roadways: Fog lines,center lines
and/or both
