FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE K-12 Art Contest Invites Students to Honor Local Firefighters LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. March 3, 2026—The community is invited to celebrate the bravery and service of local firefighters through a new student art contest titled "Our Firefighters, Protecting Our Community." The art contest is open to all children in kindergarten through 12th grade who live in or attend public or private schools in Lake Oswego. The contest runs from March 3 to April 21, 2026. Artwork may be realistic or imaginative and should reflect each student's unique perspective. The winning artwork will be displayed permanently at the new South Shore Fire Station, pending the passing of the May 19, 2026, bond to rebuild the South Shore Fire Station. Each winner will also receive a customized t-shirt and poster of their artwork.
